PRECAUTION FOR DISCONNECTING CABLE FROM NEGATIVE AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL
NOTICE:
When disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal, initialize the following systems after the cable is reconnected.

PRECAUTIONS FOR HANDS FREE POWER TRUNK LID
(a) In the following situations, the hands free power trunk lid may operate unintentionally if the electrical key transmitter sub-assembly is near or within the rear door exterior operation detection area:

When a large amount of water is applied to the rear bumper, such as when in heavy rain.

When water is applied to the rear bumper, such as when washing the vehicle.
-
When dirt, etc. is wiped off the rear bumper.
-
When a small animal or ball suddenly enters the area below the rear bumper.
-
When trying to remove an object from below the rear bumper.
-
When removing snow, etc. from below the rear bumper. (such as when using a snow shovel)
-
When a person sits on the rear bumper and moves their legs.
-
When a person's leg or body brushes against the rear bumper while passing the vehicle.
-
When parked in an area where radio waves or noise interferes with the sensitivity of the kick door sensor, such as coin parking, gasoline stands, when driving on roads with road heating or passing fluorescent lights.
-
There are TV towers, electric power plants, broadcasting stations, gas stations or other facilities that generate strong radio waves or electrical noise nearby.
-
When parked near plants, etc., near the rear bumper.
-
When loading or unloading objects near the rear bumper.
-
When removing or installing accessories or a car cover near the rear bumper.
-
When the vehicle is being towed.
(b) In the following situations, the hands free power trunk lid may not operate normally:
-
When the rear bumper is strongly kicked.
-
When there are electrical waves present that interfere with communication between the electrical key transmitter sub-assembly and vehicle.
-
When a device which emits radio waves which are near the same frequency as the kick door control sensor is near the vehicle.
When parked in an area where radio waves or noise interferes with the sensitivity of the kick door sensor, such as coin parking, gasoline stands, when driving on roads with road heating or passing fluorescent lights.

When a large amount of water is applied to the rear bumper, such as when in heavy rain.

When water is applied to the rear bumper, such as when washing the vehicle.
-
When mud, snow, ice, etc. is attached to the rear bumper.
-
When the vehicle has been parked for a while near objects that move and contact the rear bumper, such as tall grass or trees.
-
When parking in an area with an electric field, such as road heating.
-
When accessories, etc. are attached to the rear bumper.
-
When the remote engine starter is operating.
-
When kick operations are performed several times consecutively.
-
When the rear bumper is touched for a certain period of time.
-
There are TV towers, electric power plants, broadcasting stations, gas stations or other facilities that generate strong radio waves or electrical noise nearby.
(c) In the following situations, the hands free power trunk lid will not operate:

When not carrying the electrical key transmitter sub-assembly.

When the customization setting is not set as follows:
-
The "KICK SENSOR" item is set to "On" using the customization function via the multi-information display in the combination meter assembly (The default setting is "On").

The "PBD Power Operation" item is set to "ON" using the Techstream customization function (The default setting is "ON").

The "Kick Sensor Function" item is set to "ON" using the Techstream customization function. (The default setting is "ON")

When the electrical key transmitter sub-assembly is outside of the power trunk lid operation detection area.
-
When the entry function does not operate because of wave interference.
