INSPECTION
PROCEDURE
1. INSPECT OIL PRESSURE CONTROL VALVE ASSEMBLY
(a) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below. Standard Resistance: Tester Connection | Condition | Specified Condition | 1 - 2 | 20°C (68°F) | 6.2 to 8.2 Ω | If the result is not as specified, replace the oil pressure control valve assembly. | | *a | Component without harness connected (Oil Pressure Control Valve Assembly)
(b) Connect a positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 1 and a negative (-) lead to terminal 2. Check that a clicking sound is heard from the oil pressure control valve assembly. NOTICE: -
Check that the battery voltage is between 10 and 16 V before performing this test.
-
Perform this test within 10 seconds to prevent the coil from burning out.
-
Always switch the voltage on and off at the battery side, not the oil pressure control valve assembly side.
If the result is not as specified, replace the oil pressure control valve assembly. | | *a | Component without harness connected (Oil Pressure Control Valve Assembly)
