Lexus ES: IGB Signal Circuit Short to Auxiliary Battery (P1CFA12)

DESCRIPTION

The hybrid vehicle control ECU monitors the IGB signal received from the certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly). When an error is detected in the IGB signal, this DTC is stored.

IGB Signal Circuit Short to Auxiliary Battery

An IGB signal from the hybrid vehicle control ECU is on when the power switch is off.

(1 trip detection logic)

  • Wire harness or connector
  • Hybrid vehicle control ECU
  • Certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly)

HINT:

After repair has been completed, clear the DTCs and then check that the vehicle has returned to normal by performing the following All Readiness check procedure.

  1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
  2. Turn the power switch on (IG) and turn the Techstream on.
  3. Clear the DTCs (even if no DTCs are stored, perform the clear DTC procedure).
  4. Turn the power switch off and wait for 2 minutes or more.
  5. Turn the power switch on (IG) and turn the Techstream on.
  6. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Utility / All Readiness.
  7. Check the DTC judgment result.

    HINT:

    • If the judgment result shows NORMAL, the system is normal.
    • If the judgment result shows ABNORMAL, the system has a malfunction.
    • If the judgment result shows INCOMPLETE or N/A, perform driving pattern again.

(a) Check the connector connection condition of the certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly).

(a) Turn the power switch off.

(b) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

(a) Disconnect the G47 certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) connector.

(b) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
