Lexus ES: Open or Short in Steering Angle Sensor +B (C1625)

DESCRIPTION

  • This DTC is stored if the parking assist ECU receives a signal via CAN communication from the steering sensor that indicates a power supply system problem.
  • This DTC is stored if the rear television camera assembly receives a signal via CAN communication from the steering sensor that indicates a power supply system problem.

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

NOTICE:

  • Since the panoramic view monitor system has functions that use the CAN communication system, first check that there is no malfunction in the communication system by inspecting the CAN communication functions in accordance with the "How to Proceed with Troubleshooting" procedures. Then, conduct the following inspection procedure.
  • When "!" is displayed on the multi-display assembly after the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) battery terminal, correct the steering angle neutral point.

  • Depending on the parts that are replaced or operations that are performed during vehicle inspection or maintenance, calibration of other systems as well as the panoramic view monitor system may be needed.

  • Inspect the fuses for circuits related to this system before performing the following procedure.

PROCEDURE

1.

CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (STEERING SENSOR POWER SOURCE)

(a) Disconnect the G62 steering sensor connector.

(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
