Lexus ES: Remote Control System does not Operate

DESCRIPTION

The main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) receives remote control signals from the driver door key cylinder or wireless transmitter. Then, the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) activates the power window motor and sends the remote control signals to the sliding roof ECU (sliding roof drive gear assembly) via LIN communication. The sliding roof ECU (sliding roof drive gear assembly) receives the signals and activates the sliding roof motor.

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

NOTICE:

  • The panoramic moon roof key-linked function and panoramic moon roof wireless transmitter-linked function are operative when the power window customize settings "Door Key P/W Up", "Door Key P/W Down" and "P/W Down W/Transmit" are set to "ON" using the Techstream. (The default setting of each is "OFF".)
  • If the sliding roof ECU (sliding roof drive gear assembly) or roof sunshade ECU (sliding roof drive gear assembly) is removed and reinstalled or replaced, the sliding roof ECU (sliding roof drive gear assembly) must be initialized.

  • The panoramic moon roof system uses the CAN and LIN communication systems. First, confirm that there are no malfunctions in the CAN and LIN communication systems. Refer to How to Proceed with Troubleshooting.

  • If a sliding roof ECU (sliding roof drive gear assembly) or roof sunshade ECU (sliding roof drive gear assembly) DTC is output, perform troubleshooting for the DTC first.
