OPERATION CHECK

CHECK AUTO OPERATION FUNCTION (FOR SLIDING ROOF)

NOTICE:

  • Make sure that initialization has been completed before performing this inspection.

  • The sliding roof auto operation function can be customized. Make sure that the auto operation function is ON.

HINT:

  • When the sliding roof switch is slid forward or backward for 0.3 seconds or less, the sliding roof glass will move but the auto operation function will not operate.
  • When a tilt switch is pressed for 0.3 seconds or less, the sliding roof glass will move but the auto operation function will not operate.

(a) Turn the engine switch on (IG).

(b) When the sliding roof glass is fully closed, slide the sliding roof switch backward for 0.3 seconds or more. Check that the sliding roof glass automatically slides until it is fully opened.

HINT:

The roof sunshade is linked with the sliding roof glass auto slide open function and will move to the fully open position.

(c) When the sliding roof glass is fully open, slide the sliding roof switch forward for 0.3 seconds or more. Check that the sliding roof glass automatically slides until it is fully closed.

(d) When the sliding roof glass is fully closed, press the tilt switch for 0.3 seconds or more. Check that the sliding roof glass automatically tilts up until it is fully tilted upward.

HINT:

If the roof sunshade is less than half open, it will move to the halfway open position in conjunction with the sliding roof glass operation.

(e) When the auto operation function is operating, check that sliding the sliding roof switch backward or forward or pressing any of the switches on the sliding roof switch stops the sliding roof glass operation.

CHECK AUTO OPERATION FUNCTION (FOR ROOF SUNSHADE)

  • Make sure that initialization has been completed before performing this inspection.

  • The roof sunshade auto operation function can be customized. Make sure that the auto operation function is ON.

HINT:

When the roof sunshade switch is slid forward or backward for 0.3 seconds or less, the roof sunshade will move but the auto operation function will not operate.

(a) Turn the engine switch on (IG).

(b) When the roof sunshade is fully closed, slide the roof sunshade switch backward for 0.3 seconds or more. Check that the roof sunshade automatically opens until it is fully opened.

(c) When the roof sunshade is fully open, slide the roof sunshade switch forward for 0.3 seconds or more. Check that the roof sunshade automatically closes until it is fully closed.

HINT:

If the sliding roof glass is open, it will move to the fully closed position in conjunction with the roof sunshade operation.

(d) When the auto operation function is operating, check that sliding the roof sunshade switch backward or forward stops the roof sunshade operation.

CHECK KEY-OFF OPERATION FUNCTION

NOTICE:

Make sure that initialization has been completed before performing this inspection.

(a) Turn the engine switch from on (IG) to off, and check that the sliding roof and roof sunshade can be operated. Then open the driver or front passenger door once, and check that the sliding roof and roof sunshade cannot be operated.

(b) Turn the engine switch from on (IG) to off and wait for approximately 45 seconds. Check that the sliding roof and roof sunshade cannot be operated.

CHECK JAM PROTECTION FUNCTION

CAUTION:

  • Do not use a part of your body, for example, your hand, to check the jam protection function.
  • Do not allow anything to become caught in the sliding roof by accident while performing this inspection.
  • Perform the inspection from the inside of the vehicle.

NOTICE:

  • Do not use hard objects, such as a hammer, to avoid damaging the sliding roof glass and roof sunshade.
  • Make sure that initialization has been completed before performing this inspection.

  • The jam protection function does not operate when the sliding roof glass and roof sunshade is close to the fully closed position.

(a) Check the basic function. (for sliding roof)

(1) When the slide close function is operating and an object is caught between the vehicle body and sliding roof glass, check that the sliding roof glass opens a distance of 200 mm (7.87 in.) from the point of contact with the object, or opens fully if an opening distance of 200 mm (7.87 in.) is not available.

(2) When the tilt down function is operating and an object is caught between the vehicle body and the sliding roof glass, check that the sliding roof tilts up fully.

(b) Check the basic function. (for roof sunshade)

(1) When the close function is operating and an object is caught between the vehicle body and roof sunshade, check that the roof sunshade opens a distance of 200 mm (7.87 in.) from the point of contact with the object, or opens fully if an opening distance of 200 mm (7.87 in.) is not available.

CHECK KEY-LINKED FUNCTION

CAUTION:

Make sure that no one is near the vehicle while performing this inspection. Also be careful not to let any part of your body such as your hand get caught in the sliding roof by accident while performing this inspection.

  • The sliding roof key-linked function can be customized. Make sure that the key-linked function is ON.

HINT:

This function is linked with the power window key-linked function.

(a) Check the key-linked open function:

(1) Insert the mechanical key into the driver door key cylinder and turn the mechanical key to the unlock position for approximately 2.5 seconds or more. Check that slide open/tilt up operation occurs. Then release the mechanical key and check that the sliding roof stops moving.

(b) Check the key-linked close function:

(1) Insert the mechanical key into the driver door key cylinder, and turn the mechanical key to the lock position for approximately 2.5 seconds or more. Check that the slide close/tilt down operation occurs. Then release the mechanical key and check that the sliding roof stops moving.

CHECK WIRELESS TRANSMITTER-LINKED FUNCTION

CAUTION:

Make sure that no one is near the vehicle while performing this inspection. Also be careful not to let any part of your body such as your hand get caught in the sliding roof by accident while performing this inspection.

  • Make sure that initialization has been completed before performing this inspection.

  • The sliding roof wireless transmitter-linked function can be customized. Make sure that the wireless transmitter-linked function is ON.

HINT:

This function is linked with the power window wireless transmitter-linked function.

(a) Check the wireless transmitter-linked open function:

(1) Close and lock all the doors.

(2) Hold down the unlock switch of the wireless transmitter for approximately 4 seconds or more and check that the slide open/tilt up operation occurs. Also, when the unlock switch is released, check that the roof glass stops moving.

CHECK SLIDING ROOF OPEN WARNING FUNCTION

  • Make sure that initialization has been completed before performing this inspection.

  • The sliding roof open warning can be customized. Make sure that the sliding roof open warning is ON.

(a) Open the sliding roof by using the panoramic moon roof switch (map light sub-assembly).

(b) Turn the engine switch off, open the driver door and check that the warning buzzer in the combination meter assembly sounds once and a warning message is displayed on the multi-information display in the combination meter assembly.
