DESCRIPTION

The absorber control ECU receives signals from the ECM, skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly), airbag ECU assembly, steering sensor and engine stop and start ECU* via CAN communication.

When DTCs indicating a CAN communication system malfunction are output, repair the CAN communication system first.

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

NOTICE:

  • Before performing troubleshooting, inspect the connectors of related circuits.
  • Before replacing the absorber control ECU, perform all of the following:
    • Symptom simulation.

    • DTC inspection.

      Click here

    • Techstream inspection.

      Click here

      • If no malfunctions are found in other areas, replace the absorber control ECU.
  • After replacing the absorber control ECU with a new one, perform registration of vehicle identification information.

PROCEDURE

1.

CHECK FOR DTCS

(a) Clear the DTCs.

Chassis > Air suspension > Clear DTCs

(b) Turn the engine switch off.

(c) Drive the vehicle at a speed of 30 km/h (19 mph) or more for 10 seconds or more.

(d) Check for DTCs.

HINT:

If a CAN communication malfunction DTC and a related sensor malfunction DTC are output at the same time, the CAN communication malfunction must be repaired before troubleshooting the sensor.
