INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE

1. INSTALL REAR SPOILER SUB-ASSEMBLY

HINT:

When installing a new rear spoiler sub-assembly, heat the luggage compartment door panel and rear spoiler sub-assembly using a heat light.

CAUTION:

  • Do not touch the heat light and heated parts, touching the heat light may result in burns.
  • Touching heated parts for a long time may result in burns.

NOTICE:

Do not heat the luggage compartment door panel or rear spoiler sub-assembly excessively.

(a) Clean the luggage compartment door panel surface.

(1) Using a heat light, heat the luggage compartment door panel surface.

(2) Remove any double-sided tape from the luggage compartment door panel.

(3) Wipe off any tape adhesive residue with cleaner.

(b) Using a brush or felt, apply primer or equivalent to the installation area of the rear spoiler sub-assembly on the luggage compartment door panel.

NOTICE:

  • Use a clean brush or felt.
  • Do not touch the luggage compartment door panel until the primer has dried.

(c) for TMMK Made

(1) Install 4 new gaskets.

(d) Remove the release paper from a new rear spoiler sub-assembly.

(e) Engage the 5 clips and attach the double-sided tape to temporarily install the rear spoiler sub-assembly.

HINT:

Press the rear spoiler sub-assembly firmly to install it.

(f) Install the rear spoiler sub-assembly with the 4 nuts.

Torque:

6.6 N·m {67 kgf·cm, 58 in·lbf}

2. INSTALL LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR COVER
