Lexus ES: ABS Pump Motor Control Circuit Short to Ground (C052C11,C052C13,C142719)

DESCRIPTION

The ABS motor relay is built into the brake actuator assembly.

When the skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) operates ABS, TRAC, VSC, brake hold or brake assist, the ABS motor relay turns ON and drives the motor pump built into the brake actuator assembly.

When the voltage at terminal +BM is between 9.6 and 16.4 V, a short to ground in the ABS motor drive circuit is detected during the self test.

  • When the ABS motor relay is operating, an overload in the ABS motor relay is detected for 0.06 seconds or more.
  • When the ABS motor relay is operating, a short in the pump motor drive circuit is detected for 0.06 seconds or more.
